Farmers' Rest Homesteads Economy Furnished Apartments

Are you tired of the cold Prairie winters? Come to balmy southern British Columbia for an enjoyable, relaxing break. Why not get together with some of your friends? Farmers' Rest Homestead offers economical, pleasant, fully furnished housing for you alone or for groups (as you wish) in Greenwood, the smallest city in Canada and the second oldest in RC. We offer the most inexpensive holiday potential for you whether it is summer or winter. Founded in 1897 (see history of Greenwood brochure enclosed) we invite you to come and experience the many possibilities Greenwood and area has to offer you year round. Once you discover Greenwood you will always want to come back. It has had its ups and downs and is now starting to blossom once more. Come and you won't be disappointed. A short drive away and you can enjoy ice fishing or cross-country skiing at Jewel Lake or downhill skiing on Phoenix Ski Hill. Take a circle tour to Mount Baldy, Apex Alpine, Big White, or Silver Star Ski Resort or just relax as you please in front of your television. Check out our many interesting shops the area offers. Take a leisurely walk along Boundary Creek and fascinating mountain forest trails. Greenwood has what you have been looking for.

You can also enter the United States through four close ports: to the east Christina Lake and Grand Forks via Kettle Falls to Colville and Spokane, from Midway to Curlew, Republic, and Tonasket. Swing south to the famous Okanogan via Omak and visit the popular Grand Coulee Dam, then travel east toward Spokane and homeward via Grand Forks or Midway ports. Or, turn north again and enter Canada through Oroville ports to Osoyoos just one hour west of where you started. Take advantage of many experiences and rewarding shopping.

Check our websites listed in the Greenwood brochures!

Springtime will be even more rewarding. Enjoy the blossom times from the first blooming stone fruits such as apricots, peaches, nectarines, cherries onto pears, apples and so on. There are over one hundred fishing lakes stocked with Rainbow and Eastern Brook trout for your enjoyment in early summer. As the cherries start to ripen, followed by apricots, peaches, and all the fruits of the Okanagan, Greenwood is the most economical place to reside because property is still very affordable. Give Greenwood and us a try you will not be disappointed!

Here is just a little of myself. I have emigrated from Switzerland after having grown up there during the Second World War. Our upbringing was very hard because most of our best working men spent their time in the army protecting our small country. We not only were asked to do our own work on our farm, but also were asked to help out neighbors who needed assistance.

My first wife died in 1951 of cancer and left two small children. In 1953 I came to Canada as a house builder/contractor and married a Canadian woman. Together we had give children. Today I look back on seven children, eighteen grand children and six great grand children. A book written after my seventieth birthday "From the Swiss Alps to the Canadian Rockies" (now already in its fourth printing); and one in German (for my family in Switzerland) explains my whole life story; and one in German (for my family in Switzerland) explains my whole life story.

In the winter of 1960 I was hospitalized after I injured my back and damaged my spinal cord in a sawmill accident. I worked first in Kootenay National Park and then joined Fuller Brush to become one of their top salesmen. I left after seven years with some one hundred and twenty dealers under my command. I later started a fishing camp operation and taught log building courses. All these years I have worked one hundred and ten hours a week for over thirty years all through Alberta, the Prairies, and many areas in RC. The farm people became my favorite customers as I could relate best to the hard working farmers. I speak their language and understand their lifestyle. Now at seventy-seven years of age I want to make your retirement or well-deserved rest and holiday affordable. Give us a try and you will not be disappointed. I have always believed in honesty and preached that business is actually very simple: "You take good care of your customers and they will take care of you".

Cheers All!
